Merse Pál Szinyei’s iconic painting Lady in Violet depicts the painter’s wife, Zsófia Probster, who was pregnant with their first child at the time of the painting. The dress was sewn by Zsófia Probster herself, who, in addition to modelling, also had to utilize her sewing skills several times.
